NEW! BBQ Thank You! What a fabulous night we had last Friday at the all-school Family BBQ! The weather was perfect, the crowd was full and fun, and the food was delicious! Many thanks to Celebrations Catering and their amazing staff and to all the families who provided desserts to round out our meal sweetly! Thank you, too, to our faculty and staff who manned the dessert table and to the parents who helped with clean-up during and after the event. We are already looking forward to next year’s event!

 

NEW! Catholic Confirmation - For most area parishes, the month of May is also the month of Confirmation and First Eucharist! If your child received his or her Confirmation this month (or since Easter!), please send Marta an email at [email protected] with the date and parish. We’d love to congratulate all of our newly confirmed students in an upcoming Wednesday News! 

 

TONIGHT! Fine Arts Festival - Please join our music groups for the Spring Fine Arts Festival concert TONIGHT,  Wednesday, May 27, at 6:30 PM in the gym at the upper campus. In addition to wonderful music provided by our 3rd through 8th grade students, the gym will be decorated with artwork from every student Come check it out!

 

THIS FRIDAY! Gym Tarp Help - The last two weeks of school are busy, busy, busy in the upper campus gym! To protect the floor, we are in need of a minimum of 8 volunteers to help cover the gym floor with a tarp on the morning of THIS Friday, May 29. Volunteers can be from either campus! If you can help from approximately 9:00-10:00 AM, please email Marta at [email protected]. Many hands make light work! Thank you!

 

DEADLINE NEXT WEEK! Nashua Bus Transportation Survey - To be eligible for bus transportation, students must live in the City of Nashua and must be in grades kindergarten thru 8.  Students at the lower campus must live at least a mile or more from the school.  Upper campus students must live at least two miles or more from the school. If you anticipate that your child will be needing bus transportation in Nashua at any time in the next year, please complete the confirmation form HERE by NEXT Friday, June 5.

 

NEW! Summer Reading and Work - Parents will receive an email soon with links to reading and other work that is to be completed by students over the summer. Please review all assignments with your child and be sure that all work is completed before the first day of school! For your convenience, the links will also be available in an article highlighted in the “News and Announcements” section of the school website HERE throughout the summer months.

Lower Campus - The upcoming email will include the school supply list for the lower campus. Please note that the summer assignments for the lower campus are found at the end of each grade’s supply list. 

Upper Campus - The upcoming email will contain links to required reading/work based on the grade and level of the student. Because each student’s schedule is unique, there is NO supply list for the upper campus. Students will receive a list from each teacher on the first day of school.

 

NEW! Service Project - Two of our 6th grade students recently lost their beloved dog and would love the opportunity to pay it forward for all of the love, support, and care they received at Merrimack Veterinary Hospital. MVH is in desperate need of towels to care for the wonderful animals they treat every day! If you have any bath/hand towels (old or new) that you could donate, it would be greatly appreciated! There will be a dropoff bin in the lobby from tomorrow through Tuesday, June 2nd. Thank you so much for your support! 🐾

 

Upper Campus Uniform Changes for the Fall - We will have several changes to our uniform policies at the upper campus this fall:

  • Polo shirts may be worn year-round.
  • Oxford shirts are only required for Formal Dress Days (Mass Days, Special Event Days, etc.). Students will be told prior by the school when a Formal Dress Day is scheduled.
  • Skorts will only be allowed from the first day of school through October 31 and April 1 through the end of school. Khaki pants only are to be worn from November 1 through March 31.
  • Belts must be worn with khaki pants or khaki shorts and an oxford shirt.

 

NOTE: There are no changes to the lower campus uniform for the fall.

THIS WEEK! Last Day for Milk - The last day for milk will be THIS Friday, May 29th!

 

NEW! Rosary Club - The Rosary Club will take place THIS Friday, May 29.

 

No After Care - The final BUSY weeks of school include several days when the After Care program on both campuses is CANCELED. Please make note of these days and be sure that you have made arrangements for your child after school. These dates include:

  • NEXT WEEK! Wednesday, June 3 - Baccalaureate
  • Monday, June 8 - 5th Grade Convocation
  • Wednesday, June 10 - Early Release/Last day of school!

 

Summerbook Workbooks – Worried about the student “summer slide”? Help your student keep his or her school skills sharp with a Summerbook Company 10-week summer review workbook for students entering Kindergarten and up!  Books may be ordered individually online HERE.  Saint Chris strongly recommends that students complete summer work in addition to summer reading assignments!  

 

Upper Campus Math Summer Solutions Book - All upper campus students (rising 6th, 7th, and 8th grade) will receive a Summer Solutions math workbook before they leave for the summer, along with instructions for completing required summer math work. Each student’s workbook will be matched to his or her anticipated math class for the fall. The cost of the book will be billed through FACTS Incidental Billing. 

 

Upper Campus Tissue Request - It’s allergy season….and the upper campus is in need of tissues! Donations requested!

 

Upper Campus Lost and Found - The UC Lost and Found…located in the cafeteria…is overflowing! Please remind your student to come down and visit! Among the treasures, we have...

NEW! LOWER CAMPUS LIBRARY NEWS:

Birthday Books - Thank you for your generosity! Over 50 new books were donated to the library this year. Each of those 50 students had the joy of choosing a book that they would like to see in the library for years to come. Thank you to all who participated!

Library Books - It's time to return ALL library books. Students shouldn't wait until their library class next week to return their books. We are running out of time. Please have your student check both new and old backpacks, cars, home bookshelves, desks, cubbies, lockers, etc. Books have a way of hiding in plain sight!

iReady Testing - Our final iReady testing window will take place through Friday, June 5. Please encourage your student to do his or her best!

 

THIS WEEK! Hot Lunch Ends - Don’t forget….Hot Lunch service ends THIS Thursday, May 28 on the lower campus and THIS Friday, May 29 on the upper campus! All students must bring a lunch from home through the end of school. There will be no “Forgotten Lunches” or snacks available. If a student does not bring a lunch, a parent will be called.

 

THIS WEEK! Lower Campus Field Day – Field Day is coming for our lower campus students on Friday May 29th! 

 

Volunteers: There are volunteer opportunities in the morning for Pre-K and K parents and afternoon for 1st through 5th grade parents. We still need a few volunteers to set up for the afternoon Field Day. Click HERE to sign up. All volunteers should review the Field Day Volunteer Instruction sheet HERE prior to Field Day.

 

Student Class Colors - Each grade is assigned a color for Field Day. Students should wear a shirt of that color with school appropriate bottoms and sneakers.

THIS WEEK! Expanded Trivia Night! Mrs. Lowry and Ms. Nott will hold their final Trivia Night of the school year on Friday, May 29 from 6:30 - 8:00 PM in the church hall! They are excited to invite not only the 5th through 8th grade students, but all 4th grade students as well! There’s no cost to attend and no need to RSVP…just come and have a great time with your friends!

 

Lower Campus Cross Country - Lower Campus Cross Country Registration for fall 2026 is now open! Cross country is open to all students entering 2nd through 5th grade next school year. Chess Club Tournament Winner - Congratulations to Eddie D. for winning the Lower Campus Chess Tournament! Eddie defeated Luke N. in the quarterfinals with a ladder mate tactic. He then followed that up with an upset win against Cecilia S. in the semi-finals after capturing her queen early in the match. In the finals, Eddie defeated his sister Jacqueline to win the championship. Thank you to all the players for a fun Chess and Checkers club.

 

NEW! Summer Volleyball Clinic – Join Coach Knapp, girls volleyball coach for Saint Chris, for weekly skills and drills this summer. Girls entering grades 6 through 8 are welcome to attend. The cost will be $100 for all 5 weeks. The clinic will take place the Tuesdays listed below from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM at the upper campus gym. Upper Campus Summer Soccer Skills and Drills – Join our boys and girls soccer coaches, Coach Spadaccini and Coach Daugherty, for skills and drills this summer. Any student entering 6th, 7th or 8th grade this fall is invited to the upper campus gym on the following dates.

2026 Summer Basketball Camp – Join our Tri-County championship team players, along with Saint Chris alumni, for some basketball fun this summer! Sign up for one or both weeks to work on basketball skills and drills along with a team tournament.

UC Girls Summer Basketball Workouts - This summer, the upper campus girls basketball program will have skills sessions on Monday nights from 5:00-7:00 pm. They will begin on June 29 and continue each Monday night for 8 sessions throughout the summer, concluding on August 24 The cost will be $150 for the entire summer or $25 for each individual session. Any Upper Campus girls and incoming sixth graders interested in playing next year are invited. Please contact Head Coach Scott Purcell at [email protected] with any questions.

2026-2027 School Calendar - The 2026-2027 Academic Calendar can be downloaded HERE. (Please note that some changes to Early Release Days may occur. We will inform parents of any changes as soon as possible.) Parents can add these important back-to-school dates to your calendar now:

 

  • PreK, Kindergarten and 1st grade Playground Days - Who wants to play? We will hold special Playground Days for PreK, Kdg, and 1st grade students in August to help students and parents get to know each other before the start of school! PreK students are invited to the playground on Monday, August 3 from 9:00 - 10:00 AM. Kindergarten students are invited to play on Monday, August 10 from 9:00 - 10:00 AM. And 1st grade students will enjoy the playground on Monday, August 17 from 9:00 - 11:00 AM. If we need to cancel for rain, we will reschedule later in the same week. Come on down! This is a great time for the kids...and parents....to make important connections with friends before the school year begins!

 

Wednesday, August 26 

  • First day of school for 6th grade students ONLY. This will be a half day for 6th grade students. More details will be sent to 6th grade parents later in the summer.
  • Lower campus Meet the Teacher from 9:00 - 11:00 AM. Class lists will be posted in the school lobby that day.

 

Thursday, August 27 - First day of school for ALL students on both campuses. (2nd day of school for grade 6.) Students should be in full school uniform.

 

Friday, September 4 and Monday, September 7 - No School…Labor Day Weekend

 

Friday, September 18 - Early Release

⚾️ Saint Chris Night at the Silver Knights! ⚾️ - Families are invited to join friends and family for Saint Chris Night at Holman Stadium on Thursday, June 18 for a 6:03 PM game against the Westfield Starfires. The Silver Knights have informed us that the game will be televised live on NESN that night! St. Christopher’s Moms & Minis Meet with other moms for hot coffee, light treats and conversation in the church hall. Our minis get to play while we chat and grow in faith and fellowship!
