Faith Outreach Committee
The Faith Outreach Committee is one of our most active parent committees at the Academy! The goal of the group is to assist administration and faculty in creating a spiritually enriching environment for our children. Volunteers participate in all kinds of ways, including helping in the classrooms with a particular community service project, creating bulletin boards and other additions to our spiritual environment, or helping with event planning for Vocation Day. Monthly meetings are held first thing in the morning or at lunchtime. The Faith Outreach Committee consists of three programs:
- Adopt-A-Priest/Religious - Priests, sisters, and deacons from the community pair up with a classroom and visit monthly with the children to strengthen our vital Catholic faith connection. The religious share many aspects of their lives with the students and build a wonderful relationship with the students throughout the year.
- Vocation Day – This annual event is held in the Fall, and is a unique tradition at the lower campus of Saint Christopher Academy. Priests, sisters, deacons and lay people are invited to the school to share with the children the path God has chosen for them. More information about Vocation Day can be found HERE.
- Community Service – Special projects are chosen each year for parents, teachers, and students to share their faith with others by reaching out to those in need. Recent service projects have benefitted the Corpus Christi Food Pantry, the St. Vincent dePaul Society, the Nashua Humane Society, Mary, Gate of Heaven Orphanage in Haiti, and more.
