Saint Chris Fund for Teachers

Saint Christopher Academy and its School Board are proud to announce the formal establishment of the Saint Christopher Academy Fund for Teachers, a restricted fund dedicated to providing long-term equitable pay and benefits to the outstanding teaching professionals who work tirelessly to educate our students.  We are excited to create a meaningful opportunity to assist Saint Chris’s very deserving faculty.

Seeded by a $100,000 investment from the Academy and supported by additional donations from generous benefactors, the fund will be invested for the purpose of long-term growth. Interest income generated by this investment will be used to enhance teacher salaries on a yearly basis.  To ensure this important objective, the fund’s target goal is $5 million.  

“Our faculty is the Academy’s most valuable asset in our mission to develop students who are confident, independent, lifelong learners,” emphasizes School Board chairperson Tom Nardone.   “As a Catholic school that relies predominantly on tuition to support faculty salaries, we have found it challenging to compensate our teachers at a rate competitive with local public schools. Many teachers, particularly those with college debt or young families, are forced to make the regrettable decision to leave Saint Chris for a higher salary at another school.”  By increasing salaries, this fund will assist the Academy in attracting and retaining inspiring teachers, thereby securing a stable culture that supports an outstanding Catholic education for all students both now and into the future. 

Gifts to the Fund for Teachers may be made in honor of a particular individual and are a wonderful way to recognize a teacher, either active or retired, who has touched your family in a special way.
