NEW! Thank You! Many thanks to Mrs. Fessenden for arranging to have our 3rd grade students’ artwork displayed at Nashua Community College and thanks to NCC for the lovely reception for our students and their families! We love sharing our students’ amazing work with the community! If you know of any other businesses or organizations who would be interested in their own art “installation,” please contact either Mrs. Fessenden ([email protected]) or Marta Nissen ([email protected]).

DEADLINE THIS WEEK! Bishop Christian Scholarship - All families are invited to apply for the Bishop Christian Scholarship for financial assistance. The application can be found HERE and is due to the diocese by October 31. All questions about the scholarship can be directed to Brian Harrison, Parish and School Development Manager for the Diocese of Manchester, at [email protected]

NEW! Lower Campus Parent-Teacher Conferences - Parent-teacher conferences at the lower campus are scheduled for Thursday, November 17 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. Conference sign-up's were done in most classrooms on Parent Open House night in September. If not, you will hear from your teacher shortly. At least one parent/guardian must meet with each child's homeroom teacher at the lower campus at this time.

NEW! Upper Campus Parent-Teacher Conferences - Upper campus parent-teacher conferences will take on a new format this year! On Wednesday, November 16, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM, faculty will be stationed throughout the gymnasium and cafeteria and will welcome parents for short conferences on a first-come, first-served basis. Parents are encouraged to review their student's schedule and prioritize meeting with teachers whose class is challenging a student most. Parents are not required to attend or to speak with all of a student's teachers.

NEW! School Store News – Wowza…our School Store is a popular place! In order to better accommodate all students and control the “crowd,” we will be modifying the schedule a bit. Starting next week, students on the ground floor (PreK to grade 2) will be shopping on Tuesday mornings and students on the second floor (grades 3-5) will be shopping on Thursdays.

Note: Due to volunteer scheduling conflicts, the School Store will not be open tomorrow, Thursday, October 27, but will be open on Friday, October 28 instead.

Cleaning out your kids' closets?  The weather is changing so it's time to break out the warmer clothes!  If you find that your kids have outgrown any of their fall and winter clothing, please set it aside for our KIDS FALL/WINTER CLOTHING DRIVE.  Any fall or winter clothing newborn through size 14 will be gratefully received.  Jackets, coats, boots, and shoes are especially welcome.  Please be sure items are clean and in good condition.  Items will be donated to the Grey Nuns Thrift Shop which works with local agencies to provide necessities for their clients.  Collection boxes are available at both campuses.  Thanks for your generosity!

NEW! Library News -  It's Birthday Book time! Your student will be coming home with more information on the birthday book program today. It is a great way to commemorate their birthday and will be shared with others for many years to come! Books typically cost between $11-$16 and are library bound. If you have more than one student, please consider ordering books for all of them at once. Books are taking a very long time to come in, so ordering sooner than later is appreciated. You can find more information HERE. If you have any questions please email Mrs. Noon at [email protected]. Happy Reading!

NEW! Hot Lunch Orders for December - Ordering for December’s Hot Lunch will open on Tuesday, November 1st and run through midnight on the 15th on Boonli.com. Please be sure to place your order early in case of technological difficulties. You will receive an email confirmation once your order has been placed….if you do not receive that email, your order has not yet been placed and your child will not receive Hot Lunch for the month. Thank you!

Upper Campus Winter Sports Information:

Wrestling Coach(es) Needed – We are very excited to be bringing a wrestling team back to the upper campus. Our season is quickly approaching, and we will begin Monday, November 14. We have students interested in participating, but we don’t have a coach for the team. Previous wrestling and coaching experience is highly encouraged, but not required. This is a paid, stipend position at the upper campus. The team practice schedule is flexible to accommodate coaches' work schedules. For anyone interested, please contact the upper campus Athletic Director, Ryan Farris at [email protected]

Upper Campus Winter Sport Signups - As much as we may be afraid to say it, winter is right around the corner. The bouncing of basketballs, pinning of wrestlers, and the cheers from our spirit team are just weeks away at this point. We are beginning the process of signups for our winter teams. Upper Campus teams for the winter season include boys varsity and JV basketball, girls varsity and JV basketball, coed wrestling, and a spirit team. Please note the spirit team is not a competition team, but will be cheering for home athletic events.

To sign your child up for a winter sport, please follow the link below to fill out the form. Signups are not a binding contract, but instead allow the coaches and athletic department to have an idea on how many athletes will be coming out for each team.

NEXT WEEK! Mandatory Basketball Meeting - November 1 at 6 PM – There will be a mandatory meeting for all students interested in trying out for the Tri-County basketball teams on Tuesday, November 1, at 6:00 PM in the gym. Team coaches will be there to discuss tryout processes, team schedules, expectations, team rules, and other important basketball specific information.

UPDATED! Lower Campus Popcorn - Popcorn Friday was a BIG hit last week and it smelled soooooo good! From now til the end of the year, students at the lower campus will be able to purchase a bag of fresh popped popcorn for snack every Friday! Each bag is 75¢. Please send exact change only as it is difficult for our volunteers to make change for the 150+ students who purchased popcorn! Thank you to Melissa Michels for coordinating this program again and thanks to the volunteers! Note: volunteers will be listed each week at the end of the News under Hot Lunch volunteers!

NEXT WEEK! Orange/Black/White Free Dress - Monday, October 31 will be a booooo-tiful day on both campuses as our kids dress in their favorite orange, black, and white Free Dress outfits! Please keep our Free Dress rules in mind when picking out an outfit. Those rules can be found in our online Parent-Student Handbook HERE for the lower campus and HERE for the upper campus.

THIS FRIDAY! Parent Alert System –  As we do every year, we will be doing a test run of our Parent Alert system for both campuses THIS Friday, October 28 at 10:00 AM. We use Parent Alert for sending out mass communications, including text messages, robocalls and emails, to notify you of weather-related school closings, as well as any emergency information we might need to get to parents in a timely manner. To ensure you are able to receive our text alerts, please text the keyword “START” to 31706 from your cell phone. Any text alerts from our school will begin with “SCA Alert” and calls will show from “603-882-7442”.

On the 28th, we will send out a test message to all parents using all forms of communication. Therefore, you should expect to receive several versions of this test message, both through your phone and email. If you do NOT receive the messages, please contact Marta at [email protected].

Note: Per Telephone Consumer Protection Act we have to provide all recipients the option to Opt Out of receiving our text alerts. Anytime we send out a text alert you will see “Stop to End”. If you reply “Stop” you will no longer receive ANY text alerts from Saint Chris.

Auction Committee –  We had a GREAT first Auction Committee meeting last week! It's not too late to get involved and we can always use the help! Our next meeting is Thursday, November 3rd at 7:00 PM at the upper campus. If you can't make that meeting but would still like to be involved, please email Marta at [email protected] to be added to the Auction email list!

UPDATED! Applications for 2023-2024 - Do you have a younger child who will be ready for PreK or Kindergarten next year or another older child who you’d like to attend Saint Chris? Do you know a family who would like to join the Saint Chris community next year? We are now accepting applications for new students for the 2023-2024 school year! PreK applications are coming in quickly and spaces are being assigned on a rolling basis, so veteran families with a PreK student for the fall are encouraged to apply ASAP. Veteran families can complete a new student application through their Family Portal. New families should start the process HERE

Note: Re-enrollment for current students will take place starting on January 1, 2023, but we will be accepting new students for open seats next year based on current enrollment numbers.
