NEW! Thank You - Thank you to our Kindergarten parents who joined us for lunch last Friday! The students certainly enjoyed performing for you and LOVED sharing lunch with you!

Facilities Projects -

Gym Audio System - If you’ve ever attended one of our many events in the gym at the upper campus….from athletic events and drama productions to masses and graduations...you know that the gym’s aging audio system is less than adequate. We are working on replacing that system so that we can hear everything loud and clear from all parts of the gym! The cost of this project is $15,000.

Science Lab Upgrade - While this project is still at an early stage, we are investigating ideas for modernizing this important space at the upper campus.  This large classroom offers many possibilities for deepening our STEM curriculum with updated lab equipment and programming to further engage student interest in the sciences. Estimated cost for this project is still under development.

NEW!  Parent Alert System  Last Friday, October 22, you should have received a test notice from our Parent Alert system. This alert was sent by text, email, and robocall. If you do NOT receive the messages, please contact Marta at [email protected].

Note: Per Telephone Consumer Protection Act we have to provide all recipients the option to Opt Out of receiving our text alerts. Anytime we send out a text alert you will see “Stop to End”. If you reply “Stop” you will no longer receive ANY text alerts from Saint Chris.

Our Auction Committee will hold its first meeting of the year this coming Monday, November 1, at 6:30 PM in the conference room at the upper campus. NEW! Winter Sport Sign Ups -- Sign ups for winter sports teams are now happening during lunches at the upper campus. Sign up sheets are posted in the cafeteria and are open to all students. Winter sports teams will include boys basketball and girls basketball (A and B Teams for both), wrestling, and spirit. Wrestling and spirit teams are dependent on student interest.

NEW! Tri-County Basketball (Grades 6-8) -- Basketball Tryouts for all Upper Campus teams will begin on Monday, November 8. Times are still being finalized for tryouts, but the start date is set for Monday, 11/8.

NEW! Tri-County Basketball Parent Meeting -- There will be a basketball specific meeting for parents and athletes interested in playing for the Tri-County teams (not CYO teams) on Thursday, 11/4 starting at 6:00 PM in the gymnasium. This meeting will cover all aspects of the Tri-County basketball season including tryouts, practice schedules, game schedules, roster breakdowns, playing time, travel, and expectations of athletes and parents. Please do your best to attend this meeting as a lot of very important information will be given, and the tryout schedules will be released that night.

For those families interested in wrestling, or spirit, we will have a separate meeting at a later date to cover information on those two teams.

NEW! Spirit/Cheerleading Coaches Needed - We are considering offering spirit/cheerleading squads on both campuses this winter and are in need of two cheerleading coaches to make it happen! We need one coach for the upper campus (grade 6-8) team who will cheer for our basketball teams playing in the Tri-County league, and a second coach for the lower campus (grade 3-5) who will cheer for our CYO basketball teams. If you are interested, please email Mrs. Clarke at [email protected] and Athletic Director Ryan Farris at [email protected].

NEW! Ski Club Coordinator - Do you love to ski? Does your child love to ski? If so, please consider being our Ski Club Coordinator! Our Ski Club traditionally travels to a local ski facility once a week for 4-5 weeks starting in January.  Students in grade 3 to 8 may ride the bus to and from the mountain and students in lower grades may travel to the mountain ski with their parents. The coordinator will help to organize the club with assistance from the school and would be the liaison with the ski facility. If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Clarke at [email protected]

NEW! CYO Basketball Open Gym and Tryouts - Anyone still interested in joining CYO basketball this winter? The schedule below is for CYO open gym and tryouts. Please note that any parents that come into the gym will need to wear masks the whole time they are in the building. Coaches can take their masks off once “practice” starts. Students who are playing do not need masks. Any students or siblings who are here just to watch will need to wear a mask.

NEW! Coverage for Upper Campus Hot Lunch Shift - One of our upper campus volunteers has had a work schedule change and needs someone to cover her shifts for the rest of year. The shift that needs covering includes the Friday dates of 11/23, 1/4, 2/1, 3/8, 4/5, and 5/10. Please let Marta at [email protected] know if you are able to help with this!

NEW! Morning Drop-Off on Cushing Ave for Lower Campus - We are asking all families to follow our drop off procedures.  It is imperative that (1) we keep our students safe, (2) the carpool line proceeds as smoothly as possible, and (3) we respect the flow of traffic and our neighbors on Cushing Avenue.

A few very important reminders:

  • Please do not park across the street and walk your student(s) across Cushing Avenue or watch your student(s) cross Cushing Avenue.  Instead, please circle the block and use the carpool line along the same side of Cushing Avenue as our building.

  • Please do not make u-turns on Cushing Avenue, in either direction, at any time during drop off.

  • When possible, please pull all the way up to the second path leading to the main entrance of our building.  Both paths are the same length and lead to the same door!   By pulling up when you have the opportunity to do so, you allow other cars that join the line behind you to stop in front of the school rather than farther down by the teacher’s parking lot.  Even if there are no cars behind you when you first stop, often several cars or buses will turn the corner onto Cushing Avenue immediately after.

  • Finally, please have your student(s) exit on the school side of your car, rather than in the middle of the street.  Regular traffic continues on Cushing Avenue in both directions and we do not want any car doors opening into traffic.

Thank you very much for your cooperation!

NEW! Lower Campus Birthday Treats - A reminder to lower campus parents that when sending in birthday or holiday treats for your student’s classroom, ALL treats must be individually wrapped, commercially-prepared, prepackaged items. Things like Rice Krispie treats, juice boxes, small individual bags of chips or pretzels, candy, carrot stick and dip packets, etc. are fine. Home baked items, even if individually wrapped, or communal fruit or veggie trays are not allowed. (Note: Non-food items are also a great choice! Think pencils, sticker packages, etc.) These restrictions are necessary to eliminate any potential COVID or other virus exposure. Thank you!

NEW! Hot Lunch Orders for December - Ordering for December’s Hot Lunch will open on Monday, November 1st and run through midnight on the 15th on Booli.com. Please be sure to place your order early in case of technological difficulties. You will receive an email confirmation once your order has been placed….if you do not receive that email, your order has not yet been placed and your child will not receive Hot Lunch for the month.

Upper Campus Commuter Reminders -- Please help us be good neighbors! We have received complaints that parents are using private driveways along Bartlett St.  to turn around and are also blocking driveways during drop-off and pick-up. We must allow our neighbors access to their driveways at all times. Thank you for your help with this!

Wrestling Coach Needed - We are still looking for a coach for our upper campus (grades 6-8) wrestling program this winter! Please contact Athletic Director Ryan Farris at [email protected] as soon as possible!

Applications for 2022-2023 - Do you know a family who would like to join the Saint Chris community next year? Do you have a younger child who will be ready for PreK or Kindergarten next year? Applications are now being accepted for new students for the 2022-2023 school year! Veteran families can complete a new student application through their Family Portal. New families should start the process HERE. Note: Reenrollment for all current students will take place starting on January 1, 2022.

The New Hampshire Knights of Columbus will provide up to six cash awards of $100 each.
