Nothing is more important than the health and safety of our students and staff. The decisions reflected in this document demonstrate our heartfelt desire to protect our community, which in turn can allow Saint Christopher Academy to remain open for in-person learning. Saint Chris families have the option of choosing full-time in-school learning or full time remote at-home learning. Under either circumstance, in-school or at-home, we remain committed to delivering a strong academic curriculum.
Both employees and students will use masks to reduce the possibility of transmitting the virus to one another. We will provide mask breaks for everyone throughout the day and also increase opportunities to spend time outside. Despite the large physical size of our classrooms, we are limiting the number of students in each class in order to position desks as far apart as possible. We also expanded second grade and sixth grade with an additional class at each level to accommodate all families while reducing the number of students in each room. We purchased new wide-angle webcams for every classroom so that students who are at home for any reason can participate in live instruction on a daily basis. Teachers will be given additional training regarding the use of different technologies and effective implementation of remote learning practices. They will have the continued support of our technology specialists throughout the year.
Parents who have a remote learner in their home should review the Remote Learner Expectation document HERE.
