April 21, 2020

NEW! Thank You Thank you to Michael Richards (broadcasting guru), Andrea Richards (beautiful a capella singer), Mrs. Clarke (lector extraordinaire) and Fr. David (all around wonderful pastor) for broadcasting our virtual school mass yesterday morning! While we can’t be together physically in the church, it is such a blessing to be able to share some time in spiritual communion with our Lord. If you couldn’t join us live, you can still see the video of the mass HERE. Our next virtual mass will be at 9:15 AM on Ascension Thursday, May 21!

Gather for Good

NEW! Auction Event Online! Our Auction is moving online! While we had high hopes that we’d be able to gather in person at the end of May, it has become very obvious that the health and safety of our families comes first. Therefore, we have made arrangements for our community to “Gather” for Good virtually! From May 23 through May 25, all of our fabulous Auction items will be up for grabs through an online Auction site. At the same time, we’ll be hosting an online event through our social media pages on Facebook and Instagram….look for videos and photos from our community, highlighted items, special raffles and giveaways, and more! Additional details will follow after school vacation, but be sure to mark those dates on your calendar!

Note: For those of you who have already purchased tickets, we have two options:

  • Your $75 ticket can be applied as a credit to your account for spending at the online Auction! That’s right...you will already have money to spend on bids and raffles when you log in to the virtual auction on May 23! To take advantage of this offer, you don’t need to do anything...we’ll just make it happen!
  • Or, if you should desire a refund of your ticket price, you can simply email Marta at [email protected] and we will get a refund check in the mail to you!

We look forward to a fun event as together we make a difference from a distance for our fabulous school!

THIS WEEK! Virtual “Uniform Day” – Who’s tired of staying in their pajamas all day? THIS Friday, April 24, we are holding a virtual Uniform Day for a little community fun! Students are encouraged to get dressed in their school uniforms for remote learning for the day and parents are encouraged to snap photos and send them to Marta at [email protected]. We’ll post them on Facebook and Instagram and show our school spirit! Goooo Huskies!

NEW! April Vacation - As Mrs. Clarke confirmed in her letter last week, St. Chris will be following the original April vacation schedule. Therefore, there will be NO remote learning next week, April 27 through May 1. Remote learning will resume on May 4. We hope everyone takes the time to rest, relax, and recharge!

NEW! End of the School Year - Remote learning for this school year will officially end on Thursday, June 11! Printed report cards for the year will be sent through the postal service shortly after the 11th. We will send parents an email when they are in the mail.

NEW! End of Year Item Pick-up/Drop-off at School - As everyone knows, our departure on the last day in the building was rather unexpected and many students left items behind...and, at the same time, many students have our textbooks at home for their studies! In order to facilitate an “exchange” of these valuable materials, we have set up an End of the Year Item Pick-up/Drop-off for the last week of school, June 8 through 11! Parents are asked to sign up at the Sign-Up Genius HERE to visit the school and return all school textbooks and library books, as well as pick up any remaining student items from the classrooms!

To ensure social distancing, we have set up the schedule to limit the number of people in the building at one time. Teachers will have gathered all students' items in bags in their classroom and parents should leave all textbooks on the desks as indicated in the classroom. Library books can be dropped in the Library Book Return outside the library.

*Note: All basketball uniforms must also be returned at the end of the school year! We will have labeled boxes in the lobby for the uniforms. Thanks!

Please be sure that you arrive and depart within the 15 minute period you select. This will help us keep everyone safe and healthy! Thank you for your help with this!

2020-2021 Academy Enrollment – We may not physically be in school through the end of the year, but we are looking forward to the next school year and the new Saint Chris Academy! Tuition Agreements for the 2020-2021 school year are being prepared. If your child has not been re-registered for next year, you will not receive a Tuition Agreement. You are also not eligible for Financial Aid until your child is re-enrolled. Financial Aid awards are included on your Tuition Agreement. If you have not re-registered, please email Jackie at [email protected] to have a new registration link emailed to you.

New Student Recruitment Do you have a friend or family member who is interested in Saint Christopher Academy for the Fall? Luckily, our application is completely online and we are accepting students remotely! Prospective families are encouraged to check out the website, email us at [email protected], and apply online HERE! Please pass the word!

Keep those photos coming! Help us stay in touch! We miss our kids and love seeing them as they work and play at home! We enjoy sharing them on our Facebook and Instagram pages, too…it’s a great way to show that we are still a strong community even though we are learning at home! Please send photos and videos to either your student’s teacher or Marta at [email protected]. Thank you!
