Introducing Saint Christopher Academy

The Most Reverend Peter A. Libasci, Bishop of Manchester, announced [today] the upcoming unification of St. Christopher School and Nashua Catholic Regional Junior High School as one Pre-Kindergarten 3 through Grade 8 Catholic academy beginning July 1, 2020.

The new school, named Saint Christopher Academy, will be the first academy of its kind for the Diocese. With upper and lower campuses, students can expect greater continuity in education from elementary to middle school, while benefiting from the unique independence of two locations.

The lower campus will reside at 20 Cushing Avenue, the current location of St. Christopher School, and the upper campus will be housed at 6 Bartlett Avenue, the current location of Nashua Catholic.

Superintendent of Catholic Schools, Mr. David Thibault, emphasized that this new academy will offer some of the most comprehensive, continuous, and academically excellent Catholic Pre-Kindergarten 3 through 8 education available in New Hampshire today. “This new academy, built upon a foundation of excellence, will offer an authentically Catholic mission paired with a distinctly unique educational experience.”

In 2016, Nashua Catholic Regional Junior High School was named a National Blue Ribbon School; recognized for its exemplary academic program.  St. Christopher School opened a new fine arts center, in summer 2019. “The combination of these two schools into a powerhouse of excellence is an exciting move”, said Thibault.

Ms. Cynthia Vita Clarke, who is currently serving as principal of both schools, shared in a letter to parents that “[the] new school will bring together the numerous gifts, strengths, and traditions of St. Christopher School, the former Infant Jesus School, and Nashua Catholic Regional Junior High School, while also adding new advantages and opportunities made possible by the unified academy model. The Academy will be faith centered, academically excellent, and built upon a loving community where each child is cherished and challenged to grow”.

Bishop Libasci stated that, “Saint Christopher Academy will be fully committed to its Catholic identity and mission, providing a theologically, morally, and spiritually strong formation to students of all faith backgrounds”.

Nashua Catholic and St. Christopher School currently enroll students from over twenty-two communities in the Greater Nashua Area, for a combined total enrollment of 439 students.

Saint Christopher Academy is enrolling students for the 2020-2021 school year.  To apply, visit SaintChrisAcademy.org or contact Cindy Clarke at 603-882-7442, extension 112.
