NEW! Thank You –  Thank you, thank you, thank you to our entire St. Christopher community for the fabulous school year! Students, families, teachers, friends, alumni, parishioners….together, we created a year full of faith, academic achievement, laughter, and amazing memories. We are blessed at St. Christopher School!

Thanks, too, to those who donated their spare change to our St. Vincent de Paul box in the lobby over the past year! We gathered $55.00 over the year and will be sending a check to the St. Christopher St. Vincent de Paul Society for their work with the less fortunate of our area!

 

Summer Office Hours – During the summer, the school office will be open Monday through Thursday from 8:30-11:30 AM. Please come to the front door and ring the bell as usual and someone will let you in the building and meet you downstairs! We will also be closed during the week of July 1-5.

 

NEW! LIBRARY NEWS -- 

Birthday Book Program -- Thanks to your generosity, the library now has an additional 68 books this year. That is a lot of birthday books! Thank you very much for your generous support of our library. The students always enjoy choosing a book to purchase, and checking out each others birthday books! Private Tours – Even through school is ending! private tours can still be scheduled throughout the summer! To arrange, please have the prospective families call Jackie at 882-774, ext. 114.

  

PreKindergarten and Kindergarten Playground Play Dates – August is Playground Play Date month for our PreKindergarten and Kindergarten students! All children entering PreKindergarten and Kindergarten are welcome to stop by the playground on the 1st four Mondays in August (5, 12, 19, and 26) from 9:00 – 10:00 AM. This is a great time for the kids…and parents (!)….to make important connections with friends before the school year begins! Please join us!

TOMORROW! Final School Mass – Please join us TOMORROW, June 13 at 9:15 AM as we give thanks for the wonderful school year that is ending and the summer that is just beginning! 5G is preparing the mass.

 

Cross Country Sign-Ups – Cross Country sign-ups for Fall 2019 are now open! The program is open for students in grades 2 – 5 in the Fall (Grade 6 runs with Nashua Catholic Jr. High School).  Practices are held two afternoons after school each week starting the first week of school (and hence the early sign-ups!). The team is currently limited to 75 runners for safety sake, but may be expanded with additional parent coaches. Cost is $35 per runner or $60 for families. INSTAGRAM -- If you’re on Instagram (and over the age of 13), please “follow” St. Chris  . . . and check out our posts!   We’re trying to increase our social media presence and encourage new families to join our school.  The more followers we have, the easier it is for people to hear about us. UPDATED! Fall Back to School Dates -- And just as we’re finishing up this year, we start looking ahead to NEXT year! As you look at the dates below for the start of school, you’ll notice that we have a little different schedule for the first few days. While our Meet the Teacher date is before Labor Day, school will actually officially begin with ALL students reporting for the opening day on September 3. This is the Tuesday following Labor Day. This schedule change was mandated by the Diocese of Manchester Catholic Schools office and will be the same throughout all Catholic schools is NH. We hope you enjoy the extra few days of summer vacation!

PreK/Kdg Play Dates: Mondays from August 5 through August 26

Meet the Teacher: 9:00 – 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 29

1st Day of School for all students: Tuesday, September 3

Parent Information Night: 6:45 PM on Tuesday, September 10

Band/Fiddle for 2019-2020 -- Band Director David Bailey and Fiddle Squad Director Alison Bailey invite all students who will be in grades 3-6 in the Fall to consider joining Band and/or Fiddle Squad! Music is a fun and exciting way for students to expand their academic experience, make new friends, and build self-esteem (among MANY other benefits!). Summer Reading Help -- Does your child need some extra help in Reading over the summer? 2nd grade teacher Nicole Jacques will be available to tutor at St. Chris on Thursdays. To arrange, please contact her at [email protected] 

 

Summer Tutoring Available – Are you interested in extra help for your student this summer? 5th grade teacher Kerry Goltsov will be available to tutor at St. Chris from Monday through Friday. To arrange, please contact her at (603-318-4356 or [email protected].

 

NEW! Youth Ministry Summer Events -- Any rising 3rd-12th graders (current 2nd-11th graders) are welcome to join St. Christopher’s Youth Ministry summer events! Here’s what we’ve got planned so far:

June 30: Family Game Night – Parents, siblings, and other relatives are invited to challenge each other at cards, board games, and pichenotte. Feel free to bring a tabletop game to share. Pizza will be provided! Church Hall, 5-7pm

July 8: Launch Trampoline Park – Come bounce with us! Cost is $17 for the 1½ hour jump session. Parent pick up/drop off is at the Pennell Center. Launch in Nashua, 6-8:30pm. Actual jump time from 6:30-8pm. Extra time accounts for prayer, transportation, and post-jump food.

July 22: Parish Movie Night – Youth Ministry is hosting some fellowship for the rest of the parish! Enjoy a faith-based movie (TBD), good food, and time with friends. Location TBD, 6-8:30pm

July 29 – August 2: Vacation Bible School – Learn about the fascinating stories in our Scriptures. Anyone entering Pre-K through 6th grade can be campers. Those entering 7th grade and up can be volunteers. Church Hall, 8:30-11:30am

August 8: Praise, Worship, and Adore – A holy hour with Eucharistic Adoration, contemporary praise & worship music, and witness talks. Open to the whole parish. Church, 7-8pm

August 17: Pennell Center Cleanup – Organizing and tidying up the Pennell Center before the new school year. Snacks provided! Pennell Center, 9-11am

 

Vacation Bible School!!! St. Christopher Parish’s popular Vacation Bible School (VBS) with run from July 29-August 2, 2019! This year’s theme is ROAR! 2019: Life is Wild ~ God is Good. Registration forms are included in this week’s paper News ! Children ages 4 (entering pre-K) to Grade 5 are invited to come join us for a GRRReat time at Vacation Bible School this summer! We will travel to the African Savannah, a safari into the Bible, where we will sing, dance, create and play as we learn that even when our life gets WILD, God is always good! And we Trust in Him!
