NEW! Thank You – Thank you to all those who donated the many, many, many bags of food for our Corpus Christi Food Pantry Brown Bag drive last week! While the Food Pantry has not yet let us know the total pounds of donated food, their volunteers were very impressed with the number of bags! Thank you!

UPDATED! Raffle Calendar Fundraiser – Keep bringing in those tickets! Just a few days left!  As in the past, for every 10 raffle tickets your family sells, you will earn one entry into a raffle for a $1,500 Tuition Credit or $1,000 Cash!  This is the first of our three major fundraisers in the annual Invest in Excellence campaign, so we are really counting on your support!

We will have a number of fun student seller incentives throughout the month of September! Check them out!

FRIDAY FUNDAY incentives for every Friday in September. Any student who brings in at least one ticket will receive the prize of the day:

THIS WEEK! Friday, September 27 – Free Dress Pass for THAT day, September 27! No Free Dress pass needed…just bring in at least ONE ticket ON Friday!

Student Surprise Free Dress Prizes will be chosen on random days during the month of September from anyone who turns in a ticket on that day.

Crazy Mrs. Clarke will make a special appearance in October if we beat our school goal of 2,000 tickets! We’ve met our goal each of the last 10 years…can’t wait to make this number 11 and see what crazy Mrs. Clarke will do this year!

Classroom contests – The classroom with the most raffle sales will receive an ice cream sundae party in October! So far, our top classrooms are:

5G – 78 tickets

4T – 60 tickets

6W – 45 tickets

Returning Calendar Tickets – Save our volunteer ticket counter’s sanity! Please be sure that all tickets include your child’s classroom! With 325 students returning over 2,000 total tickets, we want to be sure that every family gets the sales credit they deserve!

Need more tickets? (Yay you!) – Simply shoot Marta an email at [email protected], write a quick note to your teacher, or stop by the front desk at school! We have lots and lots of extras ready just for you!

TOMORROW! Future of Catholic Schools Listening Session -- As promised at our Parent Information Nigh, we would like to invite parents to be involved in planning for the future of Catholic schools in Nashua. There is a listening session planned for St. Christopher parents TOMORROW in the Church Hall at 8:00 AM. Parents will be invited to share ideas! In addition, a listening session will be held for 5th and 6th grade students later in the morning.

NEW! Do you love to read? Share your love of books with our students in the Junior Great Books club!  Volunteers are needed to lead small group discussion.  Junior Great Books meets before school (8am) one morning each week for only ten weeks, beginning in October.  You will enjoy it as much as the kids!  For more info, contact Lorrice Bedard at [email protected]

STEM Committee Meeting - The incorporation of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) is an important part of the academic program here at St. Chris! We love exploring new areas and helping our kids to think and learn like scientists! Each year, our STEM Committee takes on new projects to further this integration of STEM into the life of the school, as well as planning the annual STEM Day and Science Fair in March. If you would like to be part of this exciting effort, please join us at our first STEM Committee meeting on Monday, October 7 at 6:30 PM in the school library! For more information, please contact the committee at [email protected].

NEXT MONDAY! Auction Committee Meeting -- Time to get the party started…or at least start planning for it! Our Auction Committee will hold its first meeting of the year on THIS COMING Monday, September 30 at 7:00 PM at Margarita’s in Nashua. Our auction is the largest fundraiser for St. Chris, having raised over $71,000 dollars last year to assist in making St. Chris a better place for all students! There’s a place on the Auction Committee for everyone, including those interested in theme/decorations, item procurement, technology/computers, class art projects, reservations/seating, etc.! Meetings are held monthly through December, then bi-weekly during January and weekly in March, although Committee members “come and go” as needed with their role on the Committee. Contact chairperson Jenn Torosian at [email protected] for more information.

NEW! Back Parking Lot Reminder – Please remember to back into your spot in the back parking lot when picking up students in the afternoon. Doing this allows you to see our students more easily as you pull out of your spot. Thank you!

Sunshine Math - Sunshine Math is a K-6 enrichment program that encourages student of all abilities to extend themselves beyond the normal math curriculum. On a weekly basis, students read and complete a set of problems. The problems are “starred” based upon the level of difficulty. Four stars are the most difficult.

Students turn in completed worksheets which are reviewed by parent volunteers. Volunteers give positive feedback and when needed, offer some suggestions for how to solve the problem. If your child is interested, please complete and return the form that was sent home last week, or download a new form in the Wednesday News on the website.

Hot Lunch Laundry Volunteers – We are looking for a few dedicated volunteers to do the Hot Lunch laundry! Once a week, your student will bring home a small bag of Hot Lunch laundry, including towels and aprons, for you to run through the wash and return to the school. It’s a simple task, but makes a HUGE difference for our Hot Lunch program! If you are able to help, please email Roberta LaPlante at [email protected]. Thanks!

Kindergarten - Grade 2 Reading Tutoring -- Mrs. Gigliotti is excited to be offering a reading tutoring program for students in grades Kindergarten through Grade 2! Please visit https://tinyurl.com/STCReadingClub for more information!
